Independence Community College (ICC) proudly recognizes Haylie Shipley as the November Student of the Month. Shipley was honored during the ICC Board of Trustees’ monthly meeting on November 17 for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the Pirate community.

A native of Sedan, Kansas, Shipley embodies what it means to be an involved and well-rounded ICC student. In addition to being a full-time student, she is a member of the ICC Cheer team, maintains a job in her hometown, and serves as a freelance contributor for the ICC Foundation, demonstrating excellence both on and off campus.

"Haylie embodies what it means to be a committed, well-rounded ICC student. There isn't an ICC event that you won't see Haylie attend or contribute to,” said ICC staff member and nominator Kensey Williams. “She is respected by classmates, faculty, and staff for her kindness, professionalism, and determination.”

Shipley plans to continue her education at Pittsburg State University, where she intends to major in Advertising. Her future ambitions, combined with her strong work ethic, reflect the values ICC strives to cultivate in every student.

“Haylie represents the values of hard work, positivity, and community spirit that define ICC,” concluded Williams.

ICC congratulates Haylie on this well-deserved recognition and extends its appreciation for the energy, dedication, and Pirate pride she brings to campus each day.
