Apply for Admission
Applying to Independence Community College is simple and free. We have an open admissions policy, which means no minimum GPA or test scores are required. The application takes about 15 minutes to complete. Be sure to follow our admissions checklist to stay on track throughout the process.

Admission Checklist
Please note that this checklist accommodates both new freshmen and transfer/returning students. Pay attention to specific instructions based on your status.
- Complete the Admission Application – Check your personal email to receive your Student ID and password.
- Complete the FAFSA – ICC School Code: 001924.
- Transfer students should add ICC’s school code to their existing FAFSA
- If you have not yet completed the FAFSA and want to estimate your financial aid, check out the Federal Student Aid Estimator Tool
- Apply for Scholarships
Submit Documentation to ICC
- Take any necessary placement tests.
- ACT/SAT scores can be mailed, sent electronically via the ACT or SAT websites or emailed to registrar@indycc.edu.
- ICC offers a free Accuplacer - contact testing@indycc.edu
- Submit high school/college transcripts
- Final high school/GED transcripts can be mailed, sent electronically via www.parchment.com or emailed to registrar@indycc.edu.
- College transcripts can be mailed directly from the institution(s) or sent electronically via www.studentclearinghouse.org.
Submit Documentation to Financial Aid
- Learn more about financial aid.
Housing
- Apply for housing at ICC if you plan to live on campus - http://www.iccstudenthousing.com
- Meet with an Academic Advisor:
- New Freshmen: After completing the New Student Orientation for personalized guidance.
- Transfer and Returning Students: Discuss course selection and degree audits.
- Enroll in classes.
- Visit the Bookstore
