Upward Bound
Upward Bound
Upward Bound at ICC helps eligible high school students succeed in school and prepare for college. We offer academic support, college readiness resources, and personal mentoring—all at no cost to participants. The program includes a six-week summer experience that simulates college life, with academic classes, cultural activities, and dorm-style living to help students build confidence for the next step in their education.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education since 1996, ICC’s Upward Bound serves up to 65 students from six area high schools: Cherryvale, Fredonia, Independence, Neodesha, Sedan, and Caney. To qualify, students must be in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade and meet federal guidelines related to income, first-generation college status, or academic need.
Our federal guidelines can be accessed by clicking here: Title 34 → Subtitle B → Chapter VI → Part 645.
